FALLON " The Fallon Police Department is looking for the former softball coach charged with providing alcohol to minors at a teen party last January, now that the warrant has been signed by a visiting justice of the peace.
Tahoe Justice of the Peace Richard Glasson signed the warrant for Tami Peel on Wednesday. At the request of the prosecutor " the attorney general's office " Peel, after being arrested, will be released on her own recognizance.
Fallon Police Department Capt. Vern Ulrich said Peel has yet to turn herself in, and officers are now trying to locate her.
The attorney general's office said Peel would be given the opportunity to turn herself in.
Glasson said there is a reason Fallon's Justice of the Peace Mike Richards recused himself from the case, but said the reason cannot be divulged.
He said it is not uncommon for judges to ask other judges to take over cases. In the past, Richards and Glasson have filled in for each other.
Peel, 38, is charged with five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for providing alcohol to people under the age of 18. All charges are misdemeanors.
Ronda Clifton, senior deputy attorney general, said no decision has been reached yet on whether to charge the teens with minors in consumption.
The attorney general's office interviewed several teens who attended the alleged drinking party, and Clifton said one problem her office encountered was most of the interviewed minors admitted they were intoxicated.
