Dylan Sawyers and the Carson High freshmen football team finished off a banner season with a 40-28 win over rival Douglas on Thursday.

Sawyers rushed for 330 yards and scored five touchdowns, including one on a kickoff return as CHS (8-1, 7-0) finished as the Sierra League champion Austin Pacheco added 33 yards rushing and 15 yards receiving and scored Carson's other touchdown.

Carson's offensive line again paved the way with another outstanding effort. Patrick Hesse, Jordan Weber and Logan Peternell all played well defensively for CHS.
