Ruby Sleeper went to God peacefully on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at Evergreen Convalescent Center, Carson City.

Ruby was born to Harry Lee and Rose Margaret Giboney Ausfahl Jan. 19, 1912, in Fulton, Mo.

Ruby's passions were reading and growing things so everywhere she moved, Colorado, California, Massachusetts and finally Nevada she involved herself in local libraries and planted many trees and grew all types of vegetables and fruits. She also volunteered for the Stagecoach Library and RSVP in Carson City.

Ruby had worked as a governess, maid, housekeeper, seamstress, and realtor throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; Carl, Harold and Elmer Ausfahl and their wives in Englewood, Colo.; her husbands Albert Edward Shirk, Lawrence Edward Holloway, and Mark Sleeper; and two of her grandchildren.

Ruby is survived by her daughters Linda Reedy of California, Margaret Ford of Ohio and Avis E. Dixon and husband Don of Carson City; and her grandchildren Danielle Wallace and husband David of Reno; Dawn Kennedy of Oregon; and Diane Dixon of California; local great-grandchildren Patrick Andrew Dixon and Samuel Allan Dixon both of Carson City and many many other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

At Ruby's request there will be no services. Any gifts may be donated to the Carson City Library in her name. The family wishes to thank all of the persons at both Evergreen Carson City and Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare for all of the kind and caring treatment of their loved one.

Final arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory.
