Two companies agreed to provide $15,000 grants to two Northern Nevada non-profit organizations for "IT makeovers."

The makeovers, offered by Microsoft Licensing, GP and IQ Technology Solutions, are designed to allow both selected non-profit organizations to invest $15,000 in the same key technologies that local businesses use to enhance their operations.

The winners in the contest will be based on an essay describing their needs, their mission and objectives and how their organization would use the IT Makeover to better serve our region.

The selected non-profits will be able to invest their contribution in products and services such as new hardware and software, technical consulting and managed IT services.

The final selections will be made Nov. 30 by a panel of local business leaders who will evaluate the applications and choose two local organizations.

It is open to all registered Non-Profit organizations in Northern Nevada.

All registered non-profit charitable organizations serving the Reno/Tahoe basin can apply. Application forms may be obtained online at www.iqcorp.com or by contacting Dariah Scott at 775-352-2301 or by e-mail at dscott@iqcorp.com. Applications must be postmarked by Nov.15.
