Julia Calderon Sanchez, passed away Nov. 18, 2008 in Carson City. She was born in Navajo, N.M. to Valeriana and Felipe Calderon Jan. 7, 1930.
She married Mike M. Sanchez Oct. 19, 1954. She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, sister Gregoria Pinkett and son Michael Sanchez.
She is survived by siblings Nicholas Calderon, Candelaria Mazon, Delores Reynolds, Cipriano Calderon, and Lucy Edwards; children Andrew Jacques of Gallup, N.M., Martin Sanchez of Sacramento, Calif., Matthew Sanchez of Fullerton, Calif., Manuel Sanchez of Miami, Fla.; daughters Kathy Taylor and husband Matthew of Carson City, Karen Swain and husband Conniston of Stockbridge, Ga.; grandchildren Kristine, David, Carissa, Melissa, Jacob, Karena, Julia Rae, Janell, Andrew, Matthew, and Alyssa; great granddaughters Lily and Abby.
Julia enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, crafts, and visiting with friends and staff at Evergreen Ormsby care facility. She devoted her life to her family. Julia leaves a legacy of strong, loving, family ties. Julia will be fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched.
A rosary will be 7 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith, 3945 Fairview Drive, Carson City.
A funeral mass will be 11 a.m., Saturday St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dayton.
