With the Holidays right around the corner and Veterans Day over, the next event brings some sadness as well as pride.
The Capital City Community Band will present a free concert featuring patriotic music in a tribute to our veterans. It will include a heartfelt tribute to fallen solider Fallon's Chief Warrant Officer Christian P. Humphreys and his family.
The Carson High School ROTC will present the colors of each branch of service. The band, under the direction of Richard Doede, will also perform a variety of music from marches to holiday selections.

Peanutcracker, a nut shell of Peter Tchaikovsky's original ballet "The Nutcracker," is a revised, shorter version designed for the little ones and their families to enjoy.
The 45-minute performance is a wonderful way to introduce children of all ages to the magic of the world of ballet. There are several showings listed below, and the Sierra Nevada Ballet is reduced rates to organized school groups.
Also, if your interest in helping sponsor an "at risk" child to have a chance to attend this magical performance the information is below. Thanks to so many donations last year " more than 3,000 children received tickets.
