The Reno Bighorns of the National Basketball Development League will give Carson City fans a chance to see what the team has just three days before it opens the season.
The Bighorns will hold a workout and intrasquad game Wednesday at Carson High's Morse Burley Gym. The Bighorns will begin warming up at 6:30 p.m., with the intrasquad game scheduled for 7.
All donations will go to the Carson High athletic program. Donation is $2 for adults. Admission for elementary students and middle school and high school students with an I.D. card will be free.
Admission for middle school and high school students without an I.D. card will be $1. Drawing prizes will be given out througout the evening as well. The Bighorns will open their season at 7 p.m. Saturday against Bakersfield at the Reno Events Center.
Among those on the Bighorns roster are former University of Nevada stars Kyle Shiloh and Gary Hill-Thomas. Head coach for the Bighorns is Jay Humphries, an 11-year NBA veteran who was most recently an assistant coach with the Phoenix Suns.
Another former Nevada star, Todd Okeson, is working with the team as the assistant director of basketball operations. Okeson may also receive a chance to play with the Bighorns, but for now is sidelined with a torn tendon in his foot.
