A Utah man, his passenger and the driver of another vehicle were injured Wednesday night in a three-vehicle accident in front of Applebee's on Highway 395.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol troopers at the scene, Louis Levefre, 75, tried to cross the southbound lanes into the restaurant parking lot when the rear of his Subaru Forester was struck by a southbound GMC Sierra in the fast lane.

The impact spun the Subaru around and sent it into a Chevy Tahoe waiting to pull out of the parking lot.

Levefre and his female passenger were taken by ambulance to the rear parking lot of the Department of Motor Vehicles on Wright Way, where they were then loaded onto two Care Flight helicopters for Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

Sierra driver Terri Costa, 64 of Minden, complained of pain and was transported by ambulance to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.

The four occupants of the Tahoe were uninjured.

The accident closed two of the three southbound lanes for about an hour.
