Memorial services will take place Saturday for Karl Marchegger who died August 26, 2008 in Gardnerville. Mr. Marchegger was 75 years old. Karl was born March 8, 1933 in Austria. He lived in Canada, Alaska, and the San Francisco Bay Area before moving
to South Lake Tahoe in 1972. In 1996 he moved to Gardnerville. Karl owned Komarch Construction and built many beautiful homes in the Lake Tahoe basin. He was an avid reader who enjoyed ice fishing, camping, snowmobiling, visiting natural hot springs, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Marika Marchegger of Gardnerville; daughter and son-in-law Sylvia and Phil Hurst of Healdsburg; son and daughter-in-law Marcus and Lisa Marchegger of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Marika and Wulfer de Bruijn of Switzerland; sister and brother-in law Marianne and Vickerl Stindl of Austria, and grandchildren Alek and Clay Hurst, and Elaina and Jared Marchegger.
A celebration of life will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at his favorite fishing spot at Red Lake in Hope Valley (6.6 miles west on Highway 88, from the Highway 88 & Highway 89 junction). Food and refreshments will be served and hopefully someone will catch a fish or two as well.
