Frank J. Snopko, 89, a 31-year resident of Carson City, died September 14, 2008 at his home in Carson City.

Frank was born December 3, 1918 in Tacoma, Wash. He was a Carpenter's Mate second class in the United States Navy and later returned home to Washington State where he was a builder and successful developer. He moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1970 to build condos on the beach in Kihei. Frank later made his permanent residence in Carson City in 1977 and continued to build commercially and is best known for creating Carson Lanes.

Frank is preceded by his wife Charlotte of 49 years.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and David Allaire, son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Kay, son, David and five grandchildren.

Frank was well known around the town, especially at Carson Lanes. He was a long-standing member of St. Teresa of Avilla Catholic Church and will be greatly missed.

Memorial and interment services will be held at noon, Sept. 27, 2008 at Evergreen Washelli Funeral home in Seattle, Wash. A reception to follow at a nearby restaurant.
