Nevada Bighorns Unlimited Banquet and Auction: Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino

The banquet includes an elaborate dinner, impressive displays of sporting and outdoor merchandise, fine wildlife artwork, taxidermy, and a display of some of Nevada's finest trophies. Event will include dinner, and one year membership to NBU. More than 100 guns will be given away, as well as many other items. Event includes raffle for a Polaris RZR, silent auction, live auction, and numerous raffles. Single tickets and tables of 10 available. Volunteers sought to work on Oxbow Nature Study Area: NDOW has purchased 900 trees and shrubs from the Nevada Division of Forestry nursery in Washoe Valley that will be used for a planting project April 11. The Nevada Department of Wildlife is asking anyone willing to get some dirt under their fingernails to sign up to volunteer for this project. Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation - Tahoe Basin Chapter Big Game Banquet: The banquet will be held on April 18 at the Carson Nugget Casino Banquet Hall with the doors to open at 4:30 p.m. There will be games, raffles, live and silent auctions with many firearms, wildlife art, hunting, fishing and camping items as well as some hunts to win and/or purchase. April 25

Truckee River Flyfishers: Pyramid Lake Fishout

Club members and any interested public are invited to join the club in its annual Pyramid Lake fishout. We will be meeting at Mike Sevon's Wall Tent at Pelican Pt. Beach at 6 a.m. to sign up for the big fish contest. The contest is open to all club members who are current on their dues as of March 28. At noon everyone will meet for a steak lunch at the Pyramid Lake Marina. There will be a raffle for lots of great fishing gear. The cost for the fish contest is $5 and the lunch is $15. The big fish contest will end at 5 p.m. and the winner will receive a quality fly rod. Contact: Billy Lampson at 345-1944.

Fallon Ducks Unlimited Event

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch is served at 1 p.m. with an auction/raffle to follow. This event will be held at the Dry Gulch at Churchill County Fairgrounds in Fallon. Contact: steve@castawaytrashhauling.com or matt@renolawn.com.
