Carson City Search and Rescue is hosting its annual Wine Tasting and Auction fundraiser at the Carson City Airport tonight.

From 6 to 8 p.m. at the terminal at 2600 College Parkway, wine, beer and appetizers will be provided by Doppelgangers Brewery, and brew master Jason Courtney will be on hand to showcase some of their popular brews.

Music will be provided by local favorite Duane "Beans" Sousa.

Partygoers will be able to tour a Care Flight helicopter and an Aero- Squadron plane.

The highlight of the evening will be the silent and live auctions. Participants will have the opportunity to bid on various items, services and products that have been donated by individuals and merchants in the community.

The items up for auction range from certificates to local restaurants, tickets for a Reno Aces baseball game in a luxury suite, custom-made saddle racks, jewelry, a sightseeing flight and a purebred English pointer puppy.

Tickets are $20 at the door.

The money raised will to the acquisition of equipment, supplies and training for the unit.

Carson City Search and Rescue volunteers provide professionally trained search and rescue teams on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist the Carson City Sheriff's Department in field emergencies, ground searches, and community events.
