University of Nevada, Reno President Milton Glick has received a three-year contract extension at his present annual salary of $416,423.

The Board of Regents unanimously approved the extension at a meeting Thursday in Carson City.

Glick had a year left on his contract, which the regents extended to 2013 with no increase in pay or benefits because of the state's budget crunch.

Regent Cedric Crear of Las Vegas says he thinks Glick is doing a "great job" and the higher education system is lucky to have him.

Glick, a one-time chemistry professor and former provost at the Arizona State University, became UNR's 15th president in 2006.
