Two men were jailed over the weekend after they allegedly robbed a woman whose husband supposedly owed one of them money.

Kevin Patrick Maher, 49, and William Lloyd Thomas Jr., 30, were booked into the Carson City Jail each on suspicion of felony strong arm robbery and extortion.

According to the arrest report, a woman was with her toddler on the front porch unlocking her Spartan Avenue front door at about 2 p.m. Saturday, when someone came up behind the woman, shoved her against the wall, and took her wallet and prescription medication from her pocket.

After taking the money out of her wallet, the man tossed the wallet to the ground and shoved the woman into her house, the report states.

A short time after the robbery, the victim's husband received a phone call from someone who said he "collected $200 and would be back in two days to get the last $400."

The caller also stated "if they had any questions they should call Kevin," a former friend of the husband, according to the report.

Maher was arrested at a party in the 400 block of Corbett Street later that day.

He allegedly said he had Thomas call "to scare (the husband) because (he) sold Maher a bad car and owed him money."

Thomas was arrested at the Sheriff's Department on Sunday.

Each is being held on $40,000 bail.
