Masters memory: Birdies on five of his last seven holes to win his first major in 2004, followed by a 15-inch leap for joy.

Forecaddie: He has made two separate trips to Augusta National in the month before the Masters. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but he started winning again when Woods announced his return to golf.

Forecaddie: Explosive talent, but a peculiar schedule leading to his first Masters. Skipped hometown tournament at Riviera to play in Australia, and has withdrawn from Bob Hope Classic and Arnold Palmer Invitational with injury (shoulder) and illness (stomach).

RORY MCILROY

Forecaddie: No less an authority than Woods said he had all the tools to be No. 1 in the world some day. McIlroy looked like he belonged during his three-week stay on the PGA Tour last month.

Forecaddie: Usually plays his best golf after spending time with swing coach Mariano Bartolome at Doral. All anyone needs to know about his potential is he made 10 birdies in 16 holes during the final round at Carnoustie two years ago.

DUSTIN JOHNSON

Masters memory: Has turned down offers to play Augusta National, not wanting to accept until he qualified for the Masters.

Forecaddie: One of the longest hitters among the Americans. His game might be a good fit for Augusta National, but he is very streaky and has cooled since winning Pebble Beach.

SERGIO GARCIA

Masters memory: Won the silver cup as low amateur in 1999, two weeks before he turned professional.

Forecaddie: This is the only major where he has never gone into the final round within five shots of the lead. He has missed the cut at the Masters three of the last four years.

Masters memory: Tied for ninth in his Masters debut in 2002 at age 21.

Forecaddie: You've heard of the best to have never won a major? He might be the best to have never contended in a major.

Masters memory: Hopeful of a playoff in 2004 until hearing the roar of Phil Mickelson's winning birdie putt on the 18th hole.

Forecaddie: Despite three majors, he has become consumed with winning a green jacket. He has had three good chances on the back nine of the Masters. That's a lot of baggage that has not been piled for removal.

K.J. CHOI

Masters memory: Holing out from the 11th fairway for eagle in 2004 when he finished third.

Forecaddie: No other Asian-born player has more than his seven PGA Tour victories, making him the best Asian to have never won a major. The Masters is the only major where he has seriously contended on Sunday.

JUSTIN ROSE

Masters memory: One shot out of the lead with two holes to play, he drove into the trees on the 17th and made double bogey in 2007.

Forecaddie: He had the 18-hole lead and the 36-hole lead in 2004, and he had a chance to win through 70 holes in 2007. But he has only one top 10 in four previous appearances.

Masters memory: Hitting a 4-iron into 20 feet on the par-5 15th that essentially wrapped up his 2000 victory.

Forecaddie: He had surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee, and there are questions whether he tried to return too soon. He is 182nd on the PGA Tour in scoring average, and Sunday at Bay Hill was only the second time he shot in the 60s this year.

ROCCO MEDIATE

Age: 46

Majors: None.

Masters memory: He hit three balls into Rae's Creek on No. 12 in the final round of 2006 to make 10 and fall out of contention.

Forecaddie: Returns to the Masters for the first time in three years, courtesy of his runner-up finish in the U.S. Open. The good news? He has not missed a cut this year. The bad news? He has not finished in the top 20.

KENNY PERRY

Masters memory: Making an eagle on the 15th hole of the third round in 1995. It is the only eagle he has made at the Masters.

Forecaddie: He played only one round in the majors last year. This year he plans to play all four. Already has a victory this year, the first time in 14 years that he has won in consecutive seasons.

Masters memory: Watching his ball hanging on the bank of the 12th green, enabling him to save par on his way to winning in 1992.

GREG NORMAN

Masters memory: Too long to list all of them, not many of them worth remembering. But he does share the course record with a 63 in the first round of 1996.

Forecaddie: Most thought he had left Augusta National for good in 2002, but his tie for third in the British Open earned him another trip down Magnolia. Who would have imagined that Greg Norman would be competing in the Masters at age 54, and Nick Faldo would not at age 51?
