Local roundup: Carson JV baseball takes split

RENO " Carson High's junior varsity baseball team split its Sierra League doubleheader with Damonte Ranch Saturday afternoon.

Damonte won the first game, 5-3, and Carson won the second game 20-7. Carson is 10-8 overall and 5-4 in league play.

Rory Peterson went 3-for-3 to lead the onslaught. Nick Domitrovich went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs, Danny Gall went 2-for-2 and drove in two runs and Austin Pacheco went 2-for-4 and drove in a run.

Cole Dufresne, Drew Moreland and Brock Pradere combined efforts on the mound. Dufresne went 2.2 innings to pick the win.

In the opener, Shea Bondi and Peterson had two hits each. Domitrovich, Bryce Altus and Pradere all had one hit.

WNC Softball

The WNC softball team picked up its 10th win of the season in a 3-1, 8-3 split with Snow College at Centennial Park.

Ambar Huish went the distance in both and also went 3-for-4 at the plate in the loss and 1-for-3 in the win.

Alex Arciniega was 2-for-4 and Alisha Perry was 3-for-4, both coming in the loss.

The Wildcats will play at Southern Nevada on Friday.
