If you suspect that your 3- to 5-year-old child may have problems with speech, language, cognitive, social or emotional skills and/or fine or gross motor delays, Douglas County School District is offering a free Child Find screening from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 25 at Minden Elementary School, 1170 Baler Street, Minden. Please follow the signs to the screening location.

This is an opportunity for parents and their children to meet with school district staff and discuss concerns about early childhood development. If your child is suspected of having a developmental delay, the child will then be recommended for further free evaluations conducted by the school district and may be eligible for school services.

Mary Jo Hollis, Child Find coordinator for the school district, advises that even if you and your child cannot attend this screening, you may contact the Douglas County School District Special Services office at any time to request the evaluation process.

If you have any questions about Child Find or other early childhood services, please contact Douglas County School District Special Services at 775-265-5262.
