Colleen Martin, age 85, passed away peacefully in Livermore, Calif. April 13, 2009 after a lengthy illness of colon and lung cancer.

Prior to living in Livermore she resided in Carson City, for 26 years.

Colleen was preceded in death by her husband Jim Martin in 1980.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Kelly (Richard) of Reno and her son Frank Martin (Atsuko) of Rochester Hills, Mich. She will be greatly missed by grandsons Tim and Jeff Kelly; their wives Lili and Tiffani and grandsons James and Stephen Martin. She was a proud and loving great-grandmother to Alex, Tristan, Jada, Serena, and Joelle Kelly. Colleen is also survived by sisters Ramona Hobbs of Oregon, and Dolores Fetter of Washington and many nieces and nephews.

She most enjoyed holidays and celebrations when all the families would gather together at one time and she graciously was a surrogate grandmother to many in-law family members who didn't have a near or living grandmother.

Colleen enjoyed helping her husband in his business ventures in Carson City; the Silver Spur Casino and Capital Beverages and later worked the PBX switchboard at the Ormsby House. For recreation she enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling, and in her later years traveling, reading and most of all her grandchildren.

At her request there will be no service. She will be buried at Walton's Gardens in Carson City with her husband.
