RENO " The Nevada Highway Patrol says two people are dead following a head-on crash on a rural highway in northern Nevada.
Troopers say the accident on U.S. 95 happened just before 3 a.m. Thursday about 44 miles south of Hawthorne.
Investigators say a Mini Cooper believed to be traveling south collided with a northbound Ford van.
Both drivers died at the scene. There were no other occupants.
The patrol says the vehicles each had out-of-state license plates.
Names of those involved are being withheld until families can be notified.
