You can forget about bipartisanship Wednesday. That evening, it will be Democrat vs. Republican at the biennial legislative "Donkey-Elephant" basketball game.

The players are supposed to all be elected officials from the two parties. The series began in the 1997 Legislature and, at this point, the Republicans lead four games to two.

Admission is $10; all the proceeds go to the Foster Grandparents program.

Assembly Majority Leader John Oceguera of Las Vegas is captain for the Democrats. Chad Christensen of Las Vegas will head the Republican squad.

Reno High coach Kyle Schellin and Galena coach Tom Mauer will attempt to keep order on the floor. Play-by-play will be handled by Jon Ralston.

The game will be played at Carson High beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Halftime will feature activities including a slam dunk contest featuring Armon Johnson of the Nevada Wolf Pack and Gary Hill-Thomas of the Reno Bighorns as well as area high school standouts.

Tickets can be purchased at the Secretary of State's office in the Capitol, the Assembly Sergeant at Arms office in the Legislature or at the door.
