Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections for the week of July 14-July 20 (all scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations):

Green House, 3369 U.S. 50 East, scored 100 points.

Garibaldi's, 307 N. Carson St., scored 90 points. Prepared foods in the walk-in are not properly labeled with the contents and date prepared. Found foods stored in opened metal cans in the bar reach-in (pineapple juice), in the kitchen reach-in (beans and corn) and in the walk-in (#10 can of tomato sauce) covered. Ice scoop is not stored properly. It was found stored against a bottle. Water is present in the bottom of the bar reach-in. The speed gun holder at the bar needs cleaning. Areas of the main ice machine need cleaning. A supply of paper towels is not present at the only kitchen hand sink. Coving tiles are loose and the gaps are filled with food debris at both ends of the cook line.

CASINO FANDANGO MEAT DEPARTMENT, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

CASINO FANDANGO RESTAURANT, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. Food removed from original container is not stored in approved container. Found open can of mustard sauce stored in the original can in walk-in #2. Found prepared tuna salad stored over coleslaw and cooked beef roasts stored over containers of ready-to-eat salad dressings in walk-in #2. Found prepared (uncooked) lasagna stored under bags of raw ground beef (and pork) in walk-in. Also found pan of cooked shrimp cooled and uncovered in same walk-in.

MCDONALD'S #2282, 2001 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

EAGLE GAS 1, 2152 N. Carson St., scored 98 points. Paper towels are not supplied at either hand sinks in the employee restroom or in the office/kitchen.

WENDY'S, 2555 N. Carson St., scored 94 points. Raw hamburger patties in the top half of the hamburger well (opposite the grill) are at 53-54 F on the surface, and at 46.6 F internally. The bottom half of this unit has an ambient temperature of 40 F as required by law. The ambient temperature of the walk-in is at 46 F. The surface temperature of foods (including dressings, prepared salads, bulk cheese, etc.) is at 42-44 F. Cold foods must be maintained at internal temperature of 40 F or lower.

CARSON CITY RAILROAD ASSOCIATION FOOD FACILITY, 851 E. William St., scored 100 points.

PIZZA FACTORY OF CARSON CITY, 3120 U.S. 50 East, scored 95 points. During display or service, foods at the salad bar are not kept at an internal cold holding temperature of 40 F or below. Found diced ham, potato salad and sliced mushrooms (to name a few of the items) at 57-60 F.

THURMAN'S RANCH HOUSE, 2943 U.S. 50 East, scored 90 points. Found three-door reach-in with an ambient temperature of 54-55 F. Foods inside are not holding the required temperature of 40 F or lower (uncooked tilapia filets, 46 F; milk in carton, 46 F; raw rib meats, 51 F). No food to be kept in the three-door reach-in until the ambient temperature can be maintained at a maximum of 40 F. Found sliced, cooked lunch meats stored in a hotel pan opposite the grill at temperatures of 50-57 F. Ice scoop is not stored properly. Found it laying on top of the ice machine. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean. The inside roof (behind the deflector shield) needs cleaning.
