James "Spike" Mason died July 29, 2009, at age 63. A native Nevadan, James was born Feb. 23, 1946 and lived 30 years in Las Vegas and 33 years in Carson City. He worked for the State of Nevada for 25 years.
James served his country in Vietnam as a corpsman with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Reconnaissance Marines. He loved life, his family and friends. He had a passion for motorcycles and owned over 40 in his lifetime.
James will be dearly missed by his wife of 36 years, Irene, his stepson, two grandchildren, two sisters, one brother and many friends.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 23 at his home, 4311 Hells Bells Road, Carson City.
