The annual Carson High Kick-off Dinner is scheduled for Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Mo and Sluggo's, located at the intersection of Telegraph and Curry.

The five new inductees into Carson High's Hall of Fame - Mike Griffin, Bob Vickney, Woody Healy, Steve Handelin and Carlos Mendeguia - will be introduced.

The quintet will be honored at halftime of the game against South Lake Tahoe in September. All five inductees are expected to be at the dinner.

Mendeguia was the Gatorade State Player of the Year in 1988. He went on to play at both Butte College and UNLV.

Griffin graduated in the mid-60s from CHS. Vickney is already a member of the Chico State Hall of Fame. Handelin played in the mid-1990s and also was a member of the CHS basketball and baseball squads.

The cost of the dinner is $25. Raffle prizes will be awarded.
