GENOA - The second annual Chipping for Children fundraiser golf event is scheduled for Aug. 28 at Genoa Lakes Golf Club. All proceeds will go toward assisting children with cancer.
Green fees of $70 will include golf, cart and a buffet lunch. Genoa Lakes will donate a portion of the green fees, and other donations can be made to the Keaton Raphael Memorial, a Northern Nevada foundation that helps facilitate support services for childhood cancer families.
The event is being held in honor of Bailey Johnson, 10, who was a four-time survivor of neuroblastoma by the age of 5. He has been cancer-free for five years. Bailey suffers from many side affects and will have to have testing every year for the rest of his life.
