Whiteman and Caron marry

Tanya Whiteman and Brett Caron were married Aug. 15 in Coronado, Calif.

Tanya is the daughter of Jerry and Janice Whiteman of La Jolla, Calif. She was raised in Toledo, Ohio, received her doctorate in literacy studies from University of Nevada Reno in December, 2008, and has been the English as Second Language specialist at Fremont Elementary School for the past five years.

Brett is the son of Pete and Barbara Caron of Carson City. He graduated from Carson High in 1994, served eight years in the Navy, including three in Italy, graduated from University of Idaho and has been a science and technology teacher at Silver State Charter High School for the past three years.

They will be making their home in Carson City.
