The Bureau of Land Management's Carson City office will host a workshop to develop alternatives for the proposed Blackhawk to Heybourne transmission line draft environmental impact statement that is currently under way.
The public is invited to attend the workshop from 4-6 p.m. today at the BLM office, 5665 Morgan Mill Road.
The EIS will analyze the impacts from construction of a new 120-kV electrical transmission line and two new substations proposed in a right-of-way application from Sierra Pacific Power Company, operating as NV Energy.
The grant would be issued from BLM to authorize NV Energy to construct, operate and maintain the transmission lines across federal public lands in portions of Storey, Lyon, Carson City and Douglas counties.
