The Enterprise describes the editor of the Appeal as belonging to a trinity of liars (the biggest in the United States) with such distinguished people as Eli Perkins (a general utility liar), George Alfred Townsend (a liar par excellence.) From the description of the Enterprise that we lie "fully in teeth and throat," we judge ourselves to be a promiscuous liar. We do assure that we will not for a moment tolerate any charges of fabrication made on our liver or kidneys.
100 YEARS AGO
Two ex-convicts, Louis Walker and A. Hanley, recently released from the State Prison, have been arrested at Reno charged with burglary. The evidence is conclusive and they will probably return to prison soon.
70 YEARS AGO
Postmaster E. H. Bath is calling attention of the public to the increase in postal business during the holiday season. He is asking patrons to mail packages as early as possible.
50 YEARS AGO
4-H Woodpeckers woodworking club will meet Saturday at the home of leader John Lynch. At the meeting the boys will complete work on letter holders and begin work on magazine racks.
20 YEARS AGO
The Carson Sheriff's Office is implementing an "Are You OK?" program to check on senior subscribers. If the computer-generated program does not get a response from seniors, a sheriff's deputy is automatically dispatched to check on the individual.
10 YEARS AGO
Eleanor Swagger is named Dayton Senior Center volunteer of the week. She stays busy helping site manager Nancy Cregan.
