John Joseph Alfonso, 61, was born Nov. 14, 1948, in Tampa, Fla., and passed away Dec. 15, 2009, in Carson City after a lengthy illness.
He was a lifetime resident of Tampa, Fla., before moving to Carson City one and a half years ago. John was the retired owner of Carrollwood Bait and Tackle. He was an avid baseball player and fan, but enjoyed all sports.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Jennie Alfonso. He is survived by his family who dearly loved him, including daughters Kimberly Fiegehen of Carson City and Carrie Armenia of Tampa, Fla.; brother Michael Alfonso and sister Corrine Scanio, both of Tampa, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Kayla, Cierra and Briana. A private memorial Mass will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
