Robert Alan Kratky died unexpectedly Jan. 30, 2009 in Carson City. He was born Nov. 14, 1959 in Chicago, Ill., of loving parents, Robert L. and Carol A. Kratky. Bob took great pride in his work and was known for his excellence as a professional painter of custom homes.

Bob loved the mountains and all their beauty. He lived in the beautiful area of Steamboat Springs, Colo., surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains, the Bradshaw Range of Prescott, Ariz., and the breathtaking Sierra Mountains of Carson City.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman. His first passion was hunting elk, deer, antelope, and waterfowl. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, and all the natural wonders of rivers and streams.

Bob was very close to both his parents. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his father, even when he did not win.

Bob's mother, Carol, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his father Robert; sister April Cretney; her husband Matt; their daughter Samantha, of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; his loving partner Patrice Burke of Carson City; many friends, his much loved dogs Kody, Libby, and Logan, and two favorite felines Orbit and Stevie.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Thursday at Autumn Funeral Home, 1575 N. Lompa Lane, Carson City.
