Healthcare Auxiliary hosts luncheon:

The Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary will hosts a luncheon, 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Carson Nugget, 507 N. Carson St. Reservations are required. The luncheon is $20 per person. Eight Western Nevada Nursing Scholarships will be presented as well as a celebration of our "Baby layette shower" in which six new parents each month are provide with layette starter gifts. Spend an afternoon with local authors:

The Douglas County Public Library in Minden presents, "An Afternoon with Local Authors"

2-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, 1625 Library Lane, Minden. This free event will feature an appearance by local mystery author Todd Borg. Other authors participating include: Megan Avila, Will Couvillier, Robert Ellison, Frank Rocha, and Candace Stewart.
