Help on how to enroll at WNC offered
"First Step to WNC" is a new program that will feature monthly sessions on campus that detail specific college services to help Latino parents and high school students learn how to enroll and be successful in college. The first session, the admissions process and nursing program presentation, will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 6, in Marlette Hall, Cedar Building, 2201 W. College Parkway. Sessions will be conducted in English but bilingual assistance will be provided for Spanish speakers. Other sessions will be held on Fridays, March 6, April 3, May 1 and June 5. Register for 2009 Carson girls softball
Registration for the 2009 Carson girls softball season will be 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Feb. 7, Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. Fees are $55 for one child; $90 for two children and $140 for three children. Ski program offers Family Fun Day
Carson City Jr. Ski Program and Diamond Peak Ski Resort present Family Fun Days at Diamond Peak, Sunday, Feb. 8. $25 buys an all-day lift ticket. This offer is available to residents of Carson City, Dayton, Minden and Gardnerville. A picture ID and proof of residency must be brought to the Guest Services Window. Open House at Bethlehem Lutheran
Bethlehem Lutheran School will host an Open House, 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12, 1837 Mountain St. Tour the campus and visit with the principal and teachers. Legacy Corps seeks volunteers
The Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program's Nevada Legacy Corps seeks volunteers to provide respite to caregivers who provide round-the-clock care to homebound family members suffering from Alzheimer's, Post Stroke, Dementia, Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, Cancer, COPD, heart problems and many other disabilities throughout Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Storey and Washoe counties.
