Reserve your singing Valentine from Chorus of the Comstock

The Chorus of the Comstock barbershop quartet will offer Singing Valentines on Valentine's Day. With a minimum donation of $30, the Valentine will receive a barbershop quartet serenade, a red rose and personalized card. Early appointments are recommended. Jazz Sampler for Sweethearts at Comma Coffee

The Mile High Jazz Band presents "Jazz Sampler for Sweethearts," 8-10 p.m., Tuesday at Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St. Jazz Sampler for Sweethearts features the 19-member Mile High Jazz Band and vocalist Sheryl Adams, presenting jazzy versions of favorite love songs for Valentine's Day. General admission is $5 at the door; $4 for members of the Mile High Jazz Band Association, and free for age 18-younger. Dance instruction, 6-7:30 p.m. $5. For information, call 883-2662.

"Sleepwalk, a Robot" to perform

Sponsored by the Associated Students of Western Nevada College Phoenix rock band "Sleepwalk, a Robot" will perform Friday, Feb. 13 at the Warehouse, 3579 Highway 50 East, No. 209. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door. Cost is $5 for students with ASWN card and $7 for general admission. For information, call 445-3235.

Special Horse Adoption

The Bureau of Land Management, the Nevada Department of Agriculture and the Nevada Department of Corrections hold a special horse adoption event at 9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center off Snyder Avenue on the southside of Carson City. Twelve wild horses from BLM-administered public lands and five estray horses under the jurisdiction of the State of Nevada will be offered for adoption. NNCC rules prohibit the public from wearing any blue clothing, blue jeans, tank tops or shorts. No cell phones, cameras or recording devices.
