Fancy and fun fundraisers

I don't mind mentioning any great fundraiser, but now Ms. Cheyanne Duve asked if I would help out by serving at this wonderful event.

I couldn't possible say no after all the support Father Jerry and Father Chuck provide for our entire community.

So come on down and I will be happily serving all of you at the sixth annual Crab Claws for a Good Cause at St. Teresa.

There is a spectacular silent auction, and all the proceeds benefit the local St. Teresa School. If you're interested in donating a silent auction item or you need to purchase a ticket, give them a call.

Indulge in the sweet decadence of light and dark chocolate with the American Association of University Women club at the Nevada State Library and Archives.

Enjoy the sumptuous chocolate buffet of the most decadent chocolate you can find. Relax and delight in each other's company as well as the sweet selection of treats.

The funds will benefit many promising local young ladies futures providing scholarships support and continued education funding. AAUW has been helping women since 1881 by advocacy, support and scholarships. This fundraiser is for the entire family.

On Sunday, the official viewing of the 81st Academy Awards ceremony will be held right here at the Gold Dust West.

Get ready for a Hollywood-style party, including red carpet, local celebrity look-alikes (that's you), "paparazzi" photographers, and predict-the-winner contests.

Soroptimist of Carson City welcomes everyone to come enjoy a star-studded night at the Oscars.

Champagne will be flowing, and gentlemen will be making sure glasses never go dry. Dress up as your favorite star or come in your formals.

Whatever you wear, this will be an exciting night all the way to the last Oscar presentation.
