Occasionally I get request from children, and I don't mind at all helping. Thank you Ms. Chayenne Duve for sending me an e-mail to let everyone know that St. Teresa School's upcoming sixth annual Crab Claws for a Good Cause is a fun event for all.

There is a spectacular silent auction and all the proceeds benefit the local St. Teresa of Avila Catholic School. If you're interested donating a silent auction item or you need to purchase a ticket, give the number below a ring.

Carson Sertoma Club presents "Family Fun Night of Music." The money raised from this fundraiser helps in assisting the children of Carson with hearing and speech difficulties as well as cancer and diabetes.

It will be a rocking good time with the Carson High School Jazz Band. Not only is there going to be great music, but a tri-tip dinner, drinks, dancing, raffles and auction.

You can help local children by coming and having a great time, plus a little history lesson on Rock 'n' Roll.

Come bring the whole family contra dancing. Are you wondering what that is? I know I did. I had to ask Dan to explain.

"It's kind of like square dancing but with more moves and more fun," he said. Now that sounds like fun.

You can come alone or come with a partner, but be ready to dance. Bring a pie to share at social break and enjoy mingling and meeting new people.

The second Wednesday of each month is community appreciation night at the new outdoor ice rink.

The best part is you receive free admission. The weather is warming up, so you can enjoy a few hours skating with your sweetheart or little ones.

Come downtown grab a hot chocolate at the arson Nugget or mocha from Comma Coffee and stroll over to the rink and enjoy beautiful downtown Carson.
