Johnson's jump shot gives Pack 47-46 win

Nevada Appeal Staff Report

HONOLULU, Hawaii " Armon Johnson drained a j ump shot with :07 left to give Nevada a 47-46 win in a Western Athletic Conference basketball game Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Nevada improved to 15-10 overall and 8-4 in the WAC. The win gave the Pack a swep of its two-game road trip.

Johnson finished with a game-high 25 points and Luke Babbitt tallied 12.

Johnson scored Nevada's final five points of the contest.

His lay-up with 1:11 left cut Hawaii's deficit to 46-44. He added a free throw to make it 46-45.

The teams traded turnovers. UH's Kareem Nitoto turned it over with 1:06 left, and Babbitt returned the favor with 56 seconds remaining.

Nitoto misfired with 21 seconds left, giving Nevada the ball and a chance to win the game in regulation.

Johnson worked the ball into the lane and hit a tough shot under pressure with seven seconds remaining to give the Pack a 47-46 advantage.

Hiram Thompson misfired with two seconds left and Dario Hunt grabbed the rebound.
