Virginia City girls win, go 14-0 in league

Nevada Appeal Staff Report

The Virginia City girls basketball team capped an undef eated league season with a 54-36 victory over Pyramid Lake Saturday afternoon.

Virginia concludes the regular season at 24-5 overall and 14-0 in 1A action. The Muckers will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 1A playoffs. Sites and times will be announced later today.

Megan Brandon scored 14 points and pulled won 13 rebounds for the Muckers, while teammate Gigi Glogovac added 13. Pyramid Lake's Autumn New Moon led all scorers with 16 points.

VC BOYS TRIUMPH

Four Virginia City players reached double figures to lead the Muckers to a 62-57 win over Pyramid Lake in a 1A game on Saturday.

Zach Shell and Hunter Redman scored 13 apiece and Joe Avignone added 12. Ryan Conners finished with 10.

Virginia City finished third in league with a 10-4 record.

SILVER STAGE BOYS WIN

The Silver Stage boys varsity team finished an undefeated season at home Saturday with a 85-44 win against Independence.

Jared Robert led the team with 21 points. Michael Hunter, Cody Boone and J.J. Fisher had 12, 11 and 10 points respectively.

Silver Stage finished with a 13-3 2A record and will play Friday at Wooster in zone action.
