Airplane model building class

The Experimental Aircraft Association Sierra Chapter 403 offers a 4-6 week airplane model building class every Friday, 6-8 p.m., beginning Feb. 27 at the Carson City Airport, EAA building. Cost is $25 for supplies. For information or to enroll, call 883-5553.

Fundraiser for International Women's Day

Nevada American Association of University Women, Nevada Women's History Project, Nevada Women's Lobby and Delta Kappa Gamma chapters host a scholarship fundraiser for International Women's Day, 6:30-9 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at the Gold Dust West, 2171 Highway 50 East. Frankie Sue Del Papa, Nevada's first woman Secretary of State will be the keynote speaker. Tickets are $35. Registration deadline is Sunday, March 1. Martial Arts Expo

Sierra Dojo hosts the annual Martial Arts Expo, Sunday, March 1 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, Gardnerville. Registration begins at 10 a.m.; competition begins at 12:15 p.m. This is a goodwill tournament open to all schools and styles of martial arts. The public is invited.
