1 dead, 2 hurt after car plows into house in Vegas

LAS VEGAS " One person is dead another is hospitalized after a car plowed through a backyard wall and hit a house in southeast Las Vegas.

Police Lt. Tim Odpendyk (ODD'-pen-dike) says a woman in a house on Dartmouth Court was slightly hurt when she was hit by debris in the 2:40 a.m. crash.

The driver of the car died at the scene on Wyoming Avenue near Sandhill Road the U.S. 95 underpass.

A male passenger was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Police say a man and child were also asleep in the room struck by the car. They escaped injury.
