Offensive onslaught gives WNC baseball two wins

The Western Nevada College baseball team swept its double-header Friday against Eastern Utah, 17-5 and 28-5.

The offensive onslaught was led by Brian Barnett, a McQueen High product, who went 2-for-2 with a double and a run batted in during the first game followed by a 4-for-4 performance in the second with six RBI and a home run.

Lance Ray had six RBI in the two games and a home run, which was his fifth of the season.

Jordan Lewis three a complete five-inning game in the first, giving up two unearned runs, seven hits and three strikeouts.

The Wildcats trailed 4-2 in the top of the second inning, but scored 18 times in the third inning to put the game away. The first 17 runners of the inning reached base. The 18 runs and 17 hits were the most the Wildcats ever put up in a single game in the program's four-year history.

They play two more games at Eastern Utah today.
