Fern L. Hoffman, 88, died Jan. 3, 2008 in Carson City. She was born Aug. 4, 1920 to Louis Vesey and Pearl Lauderback Vesey in Kansas. Among her survivors are son J. Douglas Miller and wife Marcia; sister Ann Levering; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A celebration of her life will be held in San Jose at a later date. Capitol City Cremation & Burial is handling the arrangements.
