A woman on Como Street said she was stabbed in the leg early Wednesday by a woman she'd never seen, but whose voice sounded a lot like her boyfriend's former girlfriend.

According to the police report, the 42-year-old victim said she was dropped off by a friend just after midnight at her new apartment when there was knock at her door.

When she answered it, a woman she did not recognize began to yell at her, calling her names and saying the victim's baby did not belong to the victim's boyfriend.

The victim said when she turned her back to shut the door, the stranger stabbed her in the back of her leg.

The victim said her home phone was not yet installed, and her cell phone was out of minutes, and she had no vehicle to go to the hospital, so she waited until her boyfriend returned home from Reno.

When he arrived, he found the victim bleeding heavily.

At about 4 a.m. police were called to the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center emergency room where the victim reported the incident.

She required five stitches, according to the report.

The victim said that although she's never met the ex-girlfriend, she had talked to her on the phone, and the woman who came to her door sounded like her.

The assailant was seen driving away in a green Ford Expedition with California plates.
