Woman pleads in casino lot stabbing

A Carson City woman accused of stabbing her paramour's ex-girlfriend pleaded guilty Tuesday.

Lynsey Kieffer, 21, entered a guilty plea before Judge Jim Wilson to attempted battery causing substantial bodily harm in the Oct. 3 assault.

According to the arrest report, the 21-year-old victim was in the parking lot of a Carson Street casino around 2 a.m. when she saw her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend, Kieffer. The two women got into a fistfight, and Kieffer allegedly stabbed the victim. Then Kieffer left on foot while the victim got a ride to the hospital from a friend, according to the arrest report.

When a deputy questioned the victim at the hospital she initially lied about the incident, saying she was jumped by a stranger. But upon further questioning she admitted what happened. Casino surveillance footage also captured the assault. Kieffer will be sentenced Dec. 28.

Also before Judge Wilson on Tuesday:

• Robert Eugene Miller, 66, was sentenced to 48-120 months in prison on a charge of second-offense burglary.

• A $25,000 bench warrant was issued for John Matthew Delvecchio after Delvecchio failed to appear on for sentencing on a drug trafficking charge.

• Randy Charles Reid pleaded guilty to third-offense drunken driving. He will be sentenced Dec. 28.

• Daniel Wayne Ryan, 47, pleaded guilty to attempted burglary and grand larceny of a motor vehicle. He will be sentenced Nov. 30.

• Jonathan M. Schaff, 28, pleaded guilty to grand larceny and conspiracy to commit burglary. He will be sentenced Nov. 30.
