Wind advisory for Washoe Valley

The Nevada Department of Transportation reports at 5:53 a.m. all roads open with no controls with the following exception:

Highway 395 " High wind advisory; campers and trailers are not advised for 6 miles between East Lake Boulevard and Winters Ranch, through Washoe Valley.

Today's weather for the Carson City area will be partly cloudy and breezy with highs 49-59 with southwest winds around 10 mph increasing to 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, clear with lows 16-26 with northwest winds 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph in the evening becoming light.

Friday, sunny with highs 38-48 with light winds becoming east around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Road work continues in Carson City with areas of delays. There is continued work on Fairview Drive from South Edmonds to South Carson Street with lane closures and possible delays, as with East Fifth Street from Saliman Road to Fairview Drive.

Utility work is being done on Little Lane between Saliman Road and Roop Street, mainly between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Alternate routes of travel are Fairview Drive to the south and East Fifth Street to the north.

Work on Highway 50 in east Carson City and Mound House has posted lower speed limits with narrow lanes just east of Flint Drive.
