Brian Gary Edmonds, beloved husband of Dianne Edmonds, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. He was a resident of Gardnerville, Nev., for 18 years and was loved and respected by all who knew him. He was a wonderful and devoted husband and a brother to many. A man of high integrity and strong character, his heartwarming generosity and zest for life embraced everyone he encountered in his journeys. He had an uncanny sense of humor and was a great joke and storyteller. Brian never met a stranger.

Born November 24, 1947, in Ottawa, Canada and raised in Tucson, Ariz., Brian went to Amphitheater High School in Tucson and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona as an Aeronautical Engineer.

He loved to travel and saw much of the world. He also loved fast cars and went to several racing schools and had a collection of various classic and exotic cars. (A Man's garage is his castle.) He so loved his cars, he named his company, JCP after a few of his favorites: Jaguar, Corvette, Porsche. Brian started his business, JCP, with his wife Dianne, in 1988 in Southern California and moved his business to Gardnerville in 1991.

He recently started gourmet cooking and took classes every chance he got. He tried some of his eclectic recipes on his dear friends who extremely enjoyed his creations.

Brian received from the International Order of St. John, The Order of Donat in recognition of his philanthropic work with the order and especially his work with Hogar Christiano, an orphanage in Costa Rica.

He is survived by his beloved wife Dianne of 28 years; his sister Pat and her husband Joe Gasca; brother Gerry Edmonds and his wife Marilyn; numerous nieces and nephews, and a large family of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margaret Edmonds and his brother, Ricky Edmonds.

A celebration of Brian's life will be held on Saturday, February 7 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden, Nev., for family and friends. Flowers may be sent to CVI or memorial contributions may be made at www.relayforlife.org/douglasnv (team Scolaris/JCP).

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home.
