Winterfest week, our winter celebration of winter sports and activities, is here. The theme for the week is "Through the Ages."

Every day at lunch and every evening, we have events to promote Carson High School pride and spirit and fun, fun, fun!

Monday's dress-up day is the 20s, so think of flapper outfits, suspenders, vests and zoot suits. Monday night, come to Q'Doba between 5 and 7 p.m. for a 20 percent discount, and kick off the first day of Winterfest Week.

Curb your hunger cravings, and we'll see you there.

Tuesday's dress-up day is the 50s, so think of "Grease" and poodle skirts and white shirts with lots of gel.

We are having the assembly during the day on Tuesday and then we are playing Damonte Ranch at home that night and need all of your support!

The girl's game is at 5:15 and the boy's play at 7 p.m. There will be free pizza in between games for all who are there!

Wednesday's dress-up day is the 70s, so think of disco and peace, love and hippies as you dress up.

Wednesday night will be movie night. We'll be watching the classic time traveling movie, "Back to the Future" at 6:30 p.m. at the Warehouse off Highway 50, across from the Goodwill store.

Bring a nonperishable food item for admission to help stock the Warehouse's pantry for people in need!

Thursday's dress-up day is the 80s, so think of Madonna, Michael Jackson, headbands and jazzercise.

Thursday night, there will be a tie-dye and game night in Senator Square from 6-8 p.m. Come play Rock Band, DDR and other games, and tie-dye a shirt while you are at it!

Bring your own shirt or buy one for $4. This should be a fun evening!

Friday's dress-up day is the 90s, so think of grunge, neon and all your favorite looks from when you were a little kid. Then on Friday night, we are holding a Stack the Stands for the away game at Galena! The girl's game starts at 5:15 p.m., and the boys play at 7.

We are meeting at Galena High for face painting and snacks at 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot, so be there to get pumped for the important league matchup!

Come support your teams!

Saturday night is the Winterfest Dance from 7-10 p.m. in Senator Square. Tickets are $5 with a student-body card, $7 without and $10 at the door.

Hope to see you at our last semi-formal dance of the year!

- Jennifer Tartan is a math teacher and student activities director Carson High School.
