A 22-year-old Silver Springs man was killed Thursday afternoon in an accident at Highway 95 Alternate and Highway 50 East.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Matheson, a 1989 Ford pickup driven by a 53-year-old Yerington man was eastbound on Highway 50 East near the intersection when he failed to stop at the four-way stop.

The pickup struck the driver's door of a northbound 1989 Oldsmobile sedan driven by Ryan O'Shea.

O'Shea was attempting to make a westbound turn onto Highway 50 East.

O'Shea was pronounced dead at the scene.

Matheson said the accident is under investigation and charges are pending. He did not release the name of the truck driver.

Lyon County Sheriff Allen Veil said O'Shea's family in Ohio was notified of his death on Thursday.

Veil said it appears O'Shea moved to Silver Springs to get married.
