Reservations due for barbecue, bluegrass

Carson City Music Club will host its annual barbecue and bluegrass musical entertainment, Monday, July 13 on the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall lawn, 511 N. King St.

Reservations are required by Wednesday.

Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.; music at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by the "Back Forty." Barbecue and music costs $10; music only, $8. No alcohol allowed.

Tickets on sale for Victorian tea

The Carson Senior Citizens Center hosts a Victorian Tea and fashion presentation of "Victorian Lady Genteel Disrobe," 1:30-4 p.m., Saturday, July 18.

Tickets are available now and may be purchased at the Center's Finance Office, 911 Beverly Drive, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. $20 per person or $25 at the door. Tables may be reserved on payment.

Douglas shooting range to be closed for landfill repairs

Because of repair work being done on the protective cap at the Douglas County Landfill, the Douglas County Shooting Range will be closed Monday through Thursday beginning July 6 through July 30.

The range will be available for use Friday, Saturday and Sunday during this temporary closure. For information, call 782-9828.

Kids' triathlon registration started

Register now for the Capital City Kids' Triathlon, Saturday, July 25, at the Carson Aquatic Facility in Mills Park. The triathlon is open to children ages 4-18. Safety helmets are required. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.; triathlon begins at 8 a.m.

Vendors sought for 2009 Candy Dance

The Town of Genoa is seeking vendors to participate in the activity booth area of the 89th Genoa Candy Dance Arts and Crafts Faire the weekend of Sept. 26-27.

Hours of the Candy Dance are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The activity booth area includes interactive art or craft and game activities for participants attending the Candy Dance.

The fee for a 10 x 10 booth is $165 for both days. For information, call 782-8696.

Food, wine pairings dinner at Decades

Make your reservations for a night of wine and food pairing at Decades Bar and Grill 6 p.m., Friday, July 17.

Enjoy five courses paired with five wines served on the patio. $12 per person. Reservations are required. Must be 21.
