Vernon David Wungnema Sr., 60, of Carson City, died July 12, 2009. He was born on July 26, 1948, in Schurz, Nev., to the son of Burton Sr. and Pearl Ellen (McQueen Talas) Wungnema. Mr. Wungnema is survived by his wife Pamela Wungnema; sons Glen Wungnema of Lacey, Wash., and Vernon D. Wungnema of Carson City; daughter Gloria Wungnema of Carson City; brothers Harry McQueen of Carson City, Virgil Talas of Pensacola, Fla, and James Honyumptewa of Carson City; sisters Vera Wungnema of Carson City, Sylvia McQueen of Carson City, and Welene Allen of North Carolina, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Autumn Funerals & Cremations, which is in charge of arrangements.
