Carson supervisors to consider bonds for ambulances, water system improvements

The Carson City Board of Supervisors meets at 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

Items up for discussion and possible action will be:

• Introduction on first reading of an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $2.9 million in bonds to finance the cost of ambulances, sewer improvements and storm drainage improvements for the city.

Also on the agenda

• Introduction on first reading of the 2009 water bond ordinance authorizing improvements to the city's water system to be paid through water revenues and "providing for the levy and collection of annual general property taxes for the payment of such bond."

• An Open Space Advisory Committee recommendation to prepare a report on the rehabilitation treatments five years after the Waterfall Fire.

• Placement of signs at the Wilson Open Space on two different parcels at the top of Ash Canyon Road.

• Action to adopt a resolution authorizing the expenditure of $120,000 from the Quality of Life Maintenance Fund to the Boys & Girls Club of Western Nevada for maintenance of their facility.

• Presentation of a report on the study of regional water system involving Carson City, Douglas County, the Town of Minden and the Indian Hills General Improvement District.

• Adoption of a development agreement between Carson City and Roventini LLC for a planned unit development known as Clearview Ridge.

• Setting the annual number of residential permits available for the following calendar year.

At 1:30 p.m., the board will consider:

• Appointing two members to the Planning Commission from four candidates. The candidates are Malkiat Dhami, Kevin Hill, Ron Peterson and William Vance who is requesting reappointment.

• Adopting the Carson City Business Plan, which includes nine quality of life perspectives, two operational perspectives, 41 objectives and a set of performance measures.
