LAS VEGAS (AP) - A man who has already been sentenced to death for the September 2006 killing of a man in a robbery has been convicted of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon in another case.
A jury on Monday convicted 29-year-old Eugene Nunnery of killing Raphael Alfred during a drug dispute in August 2006 in Las Vegas. The jury also convicted Nunnery of other charges.
The jury was scheduled to continue hearing the penalty phase of the case on Tuesday. Nunnery could face death.
A jury last year convicted Nunnery of first-degree murder in the killing of Saul Nunez Suastegui in a September 2006 robbery that netted $3. The jury in that case sentenced him to death.
Nunnery is scheduled for trial in September in a third slaying.
Authorities have accused Nunnery of killing three people during a 2006 crime spree.
